The following thin tea containers are plastic. Natsume are a specific shape, handled a specific way. These are shaped like a jujube fruit, thus the name in Japanese. The black natsume may be used for practicing otsubukuro and tsutsumi fukusa temae. The brown, red and black natsume's with designs are the ones offered for the ryakubon set.
Many of the lacquer natsume that pass through our hands are handmade and one of a kind, which is why you do not find any pictured here. The prices vary greatly depending on the makers fame and the amount of time it takes to make some of these vary intricate pieces. If you wish a genuine lacquer one then email me, I can send a picture of what is in stock at that moment. The most expensive one I remember was 60,000 dollars U.S.!!
