The classic "formal" (Shin) vase; requires "formal" thin board (Yahazu usu ita ) under it if it is on a tatami mat. Use no "grass flowers" but instead only "tree flowers" for this formal vase.

GG03 SHIGARAKI WARE HANGING VASE - SHIGARAKI UZUKUMARU KAKE HANAIRE
Shigaraki ware is one of the first and finest "informal" (So ) Tea ceramics. An unglazed, high fired stoneware which has a natural kiln glaze, it dates back to Japans earliest historical period. The uzukumaru is said to resemble someone crouching. It should be hung on the tokonoma wall or pillar.
